[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lu Freedom Shampoo and Conditioner travel set smelled pretty good and is meant for curly hair. However it seemed to dry my hair out instead of moisturizing it. I’m unsure if it would be more effective over a period of time as I have pretty long hair and this was enough for me to use one time. Didn’t see an immediate difference or benefit.

I was specifically asked to review the conditioner though. I have never used LatinUs haircare nor ever heard of it but as an AfroLatina, I am always happy to see more haircare aimed at POC and the diversity of curl patterns we have. I always find shampoos kinda whatever but conditioners have to be on point with the moisture and thickness. I think this is where the Freedom conditioner earns the four stars. Admittedly I didn’t love the scent at first but I’d definitely buy this conditioner again for that alone. I felt the moisturizing quality was good enough to rate being on my radar when I need to restock, which is often. I brush my hair in the shower and I enjoyed the tingle while it was soaking in. Compared to Pattern and The Doux, it performs about the same, no discernible differences to speak of other than the scent. If I saw it available in stores where I typically buy my haircare, I would likely have another go with it.
